June 2026 - Dr.-Ing. Märuan Kebbach und Dr. rer. hum. Jan-Oliver Sass were honoured with the science award from the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Endoprothetik (DGOU) and Stiftung Endoprothetikfor for their work „Computational evaluation of the impact of low-modulus beta-titanium alloys on stress shielding of tibial trays in cementless total knee replacements". The award was presented during the 28th AE Congress in Munich on 19 June 2026.

May 2026 – Dr. Sina Gräber received an award for the best poster in the “Basic Science” category at the annual congress of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) in Prague for her work titled “In vitro characterization of a hydrogel matrix for minced cartilage repair.”

On March 4, 2026, the kickoff event for the third funding period of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1270 “ELAINE” took place in the presence of Minister of Science Bettina Martin. The DFG is providing ELAINE with approximately 12 million euros over the next 3.5 years to fund research on electrically active implants for bone and cartilage regeneration, as well as for deep brain stimulation in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia.
